TRAVEL

INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS

Belgrade is internationally accessible by plane, train, bus, minibus and car. The first option is recommendable for far abroad and three other options are more adequate for the region (Balkans / south-eastern Europe).

BY PLANE

International airport: Belgrade international airport “Nikola Tesla” is approximately 20 km far away from the city centre. Transfer between the airport and the city is possible in several modes of transport.

BY TRAIN AND BUS

The main rail and bus stations in Belgrade are next to each other, in the centre of Belgrade (1 km from the main pedestrian zone). Almost all international rail and bus lines stop or finish there. The square in the front of the main rail station is also the major interchange node for urban and suburban public transport in Belgrade, with many day and night tram and bus lines, as well as with good offer of taxis.

BY CAR

If wanted to come by car to the conference, one needs to be ready to organize their parking in Belgrade. As all big cities in Europe, Belgrade has several parking zones with limited time for parking. The entire centre is covered by very strict zoning system, with the restrictions of up to 3 parking hours per day. Map (Text is in Serbian, but the map is easily understandable)

Option 1 – Accommodation with parking: Bigger and luxurious hotels in Belgrade, as well as the most of hotels in the city periphery, usually have their own parking. Please, check availability and price (if any) for this option during the registration of a hotel. Some hotels recommended by the conference offer parking option through accommodation.

Option 2 – Accommodation without parking: This option is mainly related to budget hotels, hostels or rented flats (Airbnb). In this case, you need to organize parking on your own or by the support of accommodation host. Parking in central Belgrade is restricted to 1, 2 or 3 hours per day, depending on a parking zone. Public garages in central Belgrade are usually overcrowded and expensive for multi-day parking. A better solution is to find accommodation in the outer centre, without a parking-zone system. The outer centre can be still a good location in the city. Nevertheless, the problem to find a free parking place in this part of the city can be also challenging.
