Prof. Dr.-Ing. Helmut Hachul
Professor at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Dortmund, Germany
Prof. Hachul is the Vice Rector for Study and Teaching at Fachhochschule Dortmund, University of Applied Sciences and Arts since 2015. At the same time he is the study course director of the master program „Building envelopes with metal“. His main teaching and research area is Architecture and Metal Construction.
Helmut Hachul received his architecture degree in 1998 at the RWTH Aachen with Prof. Dr.– Ing. W. Führer and Univ. Prof. Dipl.– Ing. M. Baum as mentors. His dissertation entitled New structural forms and technologies for supporting structures made of sheet metal with Univ. Prof. Dr.– Ing. W. Führer and Prof. Dipl.- Ing. J. Neukäter as mentors was defended in 2006.
Between 1998-2006 he was a research associate at the Chair of Stuctural Engineering, RWTH Aachen. Between 2008-2012 he was the Vice-Dean for Studies at the Department of Architecture, between 2012-2015 he was the Dean of the Department of Architecture at the Fachhochschule Dortmund, University of Applied Sciences and Arts.
He received several awards such as the Teaching Award of the University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Dortmund, the Friedrich Wilhelm Price in Aachen, the 1st place of the Hünnebeck Price and the Borchers Medal.
