Dr Aleksandar Kadijević

Professor at the Department for Art History, University of Belgrade – Faculty of Philosophy; Head of Department For Visual Arts in Matica srpska, Novi Sad, Serbia and member of Architectural Academy of Serbia, Belgrade. Graduated in 1987 at Art History Dept.of Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade; defended his M.A. degree 1991, and PhD degree 1995 at same institution. From 1989 till now passed all university positions from scientific researcher to full professor. From 1988. till 2015. has published 287 articles, contributions and 11 books. Cooperated with scientific journals and institutions from Russia, USA, Romania, Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium, United Kingdom, Greece, Slovenia, Croatia, Spain, Brazil and Turkey. Participated on 63 international and national scientific conferences. Among them stand out conferences in Amsterdam (1996), Ankara (2006), St Peterburg (2007), Bucharest (2008), Ourense (2009), Zagreb (2011), Sao Paulo, Isparta (2012), Balikesir (2013), San Antonio TX (2014), Belgrade and Istanbul (2015). In 2000.was visiting lecturer at School of Art History of St Andrews University(Scotland). Editor of scientific ”Journal for Fine arts of Matica srpska” (from 2005).

Author, editor of scientific monographs and journals (285 units). Papers regularly published in peer reviewed journals on AHCI nad ERIH list, such: Prostor (Zagreb), Zograf (Belgrade), Centropa (New York), Sinteza (Ljubljana), Docomomo Journal (Netherlands), and Architecture and urbanism (Belgrade), Journal for Fine arts of Matica srpska (Novi Sad), Thessaloniki Polis (Greece), etc.

Research programme leader: Programatic founding of newer Serbian art (2005-2010, Ministry of Science of Serbia); Artistic topography of Serbian cities (Matica srpska, 2007-2015); The influences of foreign architecture on Serbian architectural culture (Matica srpska 2011-2015); State, society and religion in Slovenian and Serbian Art History(2015). Project team member on national research programmes: Tempus project (2003-2004, Faculty of Philosophy, Belgrade); Serbian art of 20th century. Between national and European’ (Ministry of science, Serbia, 2011-2015).

Memberships: Serbian architectural Academy, Docomomo International, EAHN, CIHA, ASEESS, NA Serbian studies, Matica srpska, DIUS.
